How to use the ball drop generator
- 1
Add your entries
Type a label for each one (a name, a number, anything) and choose how many balls it gets. One ball each makes it an even draw.
- 2
Pick what happens after a draw
Put the ball back, take out just one ball, or remove that entry completely.
- 3
Drop a ball
Press the button. The balls mix and one drops out.
- 4
Save the list for next time
Give your pool a name and you’ll find it under Saved Pools, ready to reload or edit.
Got a long list? Use Paste a list in the editor to add one entry per line; add ", 3" after a name to give it 3 balls.
What people use it for
Raffles and giveaways
Pick a winner from your entrants. If people bought different numbers of tickets, give each person that many balls.
Classrooms
Choose who answers next or who presents first. Remove each name after it’s drawn and nobody gets called twice.
Teams and chores
Hand out shifts, chores, or players by drawing one at a time.
Decisions and tie-breaks
Can’t decide where to eat? Let the balls choose.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really random?
Each draw picks a ball at random from the hopper. With one ball per entry, everyone has the same chance. With extra balls, the odds follow the counts.
How do extra balls work?
Each entry can have more than one ball. If Alice has 3 balls and Bob has 1, Alice has a 75% chance and Bob has 25%. Set the ball count next to each label.
What happens to a ball after it’s drawn?
You choose. Return the ball to keep the pool the same, remove one ball to lower that entry’s odds, or remove the whole entry so it can’t come up again.
Do I need an account?
No. Your pools and draw history are stored in your browser, not on a server. One thing to know: clearing your browser data or switching devices means your saved pools won’t come with you.
Can I save a list and use it again?
Yes. Name your pool to save it, then reload or edit it from the Saved Pools page.
